The DGT Pi is a stand-alone chess computer that comes with a pre-installed SD card, which can be reprogrammed for updates. The computer works with DGT e-boards and can also function as a chess clock. The product comes with 8 pre-installed chess engines and can be used for remote play mode, but this functionality is not yet supported. It is not possible to play against a non-DGT board. The instructions for the device are unclear and customer service is lacking, but the product performs well. Users enjoyed playing the chess computer and found that it was challenging enough even on the default settings. The digital display is poor, but an external USB speaker can be used to clearly hear the computer moves. Others were frustrated with the product because it was defective, and customer service was unhelpful.
