The Brush Research FLEX-HONE Cylinder Hone is an excellent tool for honing cylinder walls for engines. The tool is designed with silicon carbide abrasive and comes in a range of sizes that cater to different bore sizes. The tool is made to be slightly larger than the nominal bore size to allow the globules to press against the bore to perform the honing action. The commercial version, GBD, features 80% more globules than the standard Gb version. The honing technique for using the tool can be easily found online but instructions from the manufacturer would have been useful. The tool is relatively easy to use and provides excellent results. However, the user should be slow on RPM but fast on in-out strokes to achieve the 45-degree cross-hatch. The tool is not cheap but worth the investment as it delivers great results and lasts a long time.
