What brand is it and where is it made?
Answer: Brand is Central Georgia Generator, we assemble the unit you need from imported parts, just like automobiles, and most everything else in the USA. No generator is made in the US any more, only assembled by some and imported by other. -

What RPM does it need to turn?
Answer: The gen head is a 4 pole, 1800 RPM. This is an industrial generator. -
Question:
What size shaft does it have and what HP does it require to run it economically?
Answer: The shaft for this unit is 42mm. This unit requires about 35.7 horsepower at 1800 RPM for full output when using a diesel engine. -
Question:
Does this or any other gen you make bolt up to Cummins 4bt?
Answer: No, this will not, it is designed to belt drive. We do have the direct bolt up units. -
Question:
Does it have any kind of control panel with volt or ammeter?
Answer: This is an industrial 1800 RPM, there are no meters or plugins. Go to cgg1.com and then to customer pages and you will get an idea to what other people has done with the gens. -
Question:
At what RPM does it start making juice? How many horse to that point? Is it a gen or an alt? What's the rated life or hours of con-run?
Answer: This is an alternator because it produces 120/240 volts AC voltage and current for your house. A Generator is a DC device. The AC stands for alternating voltage and current, the DC stands for direct current, like used in a car battery. The alternator in your car is changed to DC so it can charge the battery. Horsepower required depends on how much current you pull out of the alternator. At full load is as follows 25,000 watts divided by 240 volts = 104 amps. Now the HP at this load is 25,000 divided by 700 for an 1800 RPM diesel or 36 HP and 50 HP for gas engine. It can run up to 40,000 hours continuous. We recommend changing the bearings at 30,000 hours. -

Will this operate a entire home based on standard 200 amp?
Answer: This will power your house but not like your living on the grid, if you want to live like you're on the grid, then you will need a 50kW generator. -

What's the shaft size and are the hook ups lugs or?
Answer: There are lugs in the top to connect the electrical to. Also, the shaft is 42mm in diameter. You will need to use a 42mm bushed pulley on this. -

How much does it weigh?
Answer: The net weight is 405 lbs approximately, shipping weight is 455 lbs. -
Question:
Can this be used in a water turbine setup?
Answer: Yes, any prime mover will work as long as you can maintain 1800 RPM, + or - 60 RPM. This will work, we have lots of people using them in water turbines or they have told me they will use them this way. Have not had any negative comments on this.
